For 15 days, the missionary group conducted evangelism campaigns with preaching, missionary visits, Bible studies and spiritual accompaniment to people interested in learning more about the Bible in Lima. *** Con Biblias en las manos, corazones dispuestos y el deseo de compartir esperanza, un grupo de estudiantes de teología de Andrews University llegó al Perú para vivir una experiencia misionera que marcó vidas dentro y fuera de las iglesias. The contest, governed by the ACP’s board, admitted over 700 entries among nearly 90 categories. Each category is allowed an Award of Excellence (First Place), an Award of Merit (Second Place) and an Honorable Mention (third place). These entries were judged by a jury of Christian professionals from across the country. Applications are due by June 30, 2026. These grants carry forward the generous legacy of John E.N. and Dede Howard, whose passion for Southwest Michigan helped create lasting opportunities for residents—especially young people. Through their philanthropy and community partnerships, the Howards championed initiatives that continue to bring education, culture and connection to life across the region. The Howard Facilities Program Endowment Grant supports programs for Berrien County residents that take place at Howard-named spaces, including the John & Dede Howard Ice Arena, the Howard Performing Arts Center at Andrews University and the John & Dede Howard Family Trail. The Berrien Center resident likes to think instead of his abilities and striving to find ways he can do more. McAllister’s latest effort—as he describes it—to “boldly go where no blind man has gone before” involves learning acrobatic skills and performing before area students the last two years. He and his gymnastics partner, Daseph Edwards, call themselves “Acro-bats” in that they’re both acrobats and because as McAllister puts it, he’s “blind as a bat.” <div> “We’re looking at teaching about disabilities with acrobatics,” McAllister said. “We want to illustrate being disabled doesn’t mean you can’t do things. Being disabled is a relative term. We want to show that people can do a number of things when they’re disabled, but they may need to be creative. We want to show what we can do so others can build on it.”</div> <div>  </div> <div> For his part, Edwards said this experience has inspired him to become a special education teacher and to help students with special needs and particularly those who are autistic.
